Hey Marie! Yes, the Ignik Refillable Butane Lighter # GN97FR will work well for lighting candles. We do not sell butane so that is something you will have to acquire elsewhere. If you would rather not mess with butane we also have the Coghlan's Plasma Flex Rechargeable Lighter # CG34JV which runs off of a battery.

Love this product! It’s super easy to fit into the camp box since it folds. I had no idea that I needed this product but now that I have it, I will not go back to the non-refillable, non-flexible ones!
