Replacing Suspension On 2020 Keystone 210 URS

Updated 01/29/2026 | Published 01/25/2026

Question:

Hi! I have a broken leaf spring on my 2020 Keystone 210 URS trailer. I am looking to replace basically everything suspension related on the trailer. Eye bolt to eye bolt its 26 1/4in. The axle is a Dexter 61877. SN 61256632. 213273. HF 85. SC 68.50. Capacity of 3500. I also would like to purchase the correct Hub Bearing Kit, which I believe is Part Number: BK2-100. I also need the correct U Bolt replacement. Is this Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit for Tandem-Axle Trailers - 1-3/4inch Wide Double Eye Springs Part Number: K71-359-00, a good option as well to finish out all the replacement parts? Matt

Hey Matt, thanks for reaching out. You are definitely on the right track here.

The Bearing Kit # BK2-100 is exactly what you need for your Dexter 3,500 lb axles.

Then for the U-bolts, the CE Smith U-Bolt Kit # CE23002.

The Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit # K71-359-00 is also a solid choice, but we will want to make sure the equalizer and shackle dimensions match what is currently on your trailer. This kit comes with 2-1/4" shackles. The equalizer is 5-3/4" long and 2" tall. These are all common sizes but please check under your trailer and make sure this matches. I have provided a picture below that shows exactly how to measure the equalizer. All measurements are taken center hole to center hole. If you find something different is needed, just let me know your measurements and I can make sure you get the right thing.

As far as the leaf springs, we might need to go over that one a little bit to get it dialed in. When you measured your springs, was the trailer on the ground? Or did you jack up one side? Springs can flex and extend up to 1" when under a load, so if you measured them loaded, they might measure a bit longer than normal.

I ask because for a 3,500 lb axle, a 25-1/4" spring like part # DX23CR is a really common length. So if your original springs were flexed, this might actually be the size you need. From there, our next size up for a 3,500 lb spring is a 27" long which is too long for your setup.

We have a 26" long spring part # e22YR, but this is for a 4,000 lb axle, so slightly higher rated than what you have now. Might not be a bad idea if the current springs were overworked and worn. I do recommend you replace all 4 springs at once.

Let me know when you get a chance to confirm those equalizer and shackle dimensions. We'll make sure you are all set.
