Does The B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch BWRVK3270 Fit All Above Bed Rails?
Updated 01/22/2026 | Published 01/18/2026 >
Question:
Does this work well with any set of rails? Also what would the typical height need to sit at for a 2023 ram 2500

Hi Seth!
The B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Dual Jaw - 18,000 lbs # BWRVK3270 will fit any industry standard rails (also referred to as ISR) perfectly, but there are technically a few rails out there that it will not fit. Those are getting pretty rare these days though, so I would be shocked if you had one of those on your 2023 Ram 2500. I did include an image with ISR measurements that you can use to confirm what you have as well. In the off chance you do have something different, let me know and I can see what we have that will fit.
As to the height setting, I would start at the highest setting. From what I could find, the bed rails on your Ram are 20.2" tall from the bed so they are kind of tall. The best setting will also depend on how you king pin/pin box is set up, but I think starting at the top is the best way to go for you.
Speaking of which, what are you going to be towing?

I like the hitch. I bought mine for my 2018 ram. However I have bought a new 2024 ram 3500 and bought a new B& W hitch which is a fantastic hitch. I tow a 43 foot Palimino 388fk.

I do like the new B&W slider hitch. I replaced my old Husky 5th wheel single jaw hitch with this new double jaw hitch. My existing rails already in my 2014 GMC 2500 accepted the new hitch just fine. The only difference is the new hitch has a wider base so it just used the slots in the rails next to the ones my old hitch did. I didn’t have to change anything an I actually like the fact that its base has a wider stance because it gives it a more stable feeling.

Seth, Love my Patriot hitch. I haul a 34' Cedar Creek with my 21 Ram 2500. It's a little much for a 3/4 ton truck but I don't go great distances much. I have made one long trip out to S Dakota and it handled great. The slide really helps when manuevering into tight spots. The higher setting works good with my truck at stock height. I'm looking to upgrade to a 1 ton soon. Good luck out there.

Hitch is working well for us. Towing a Grand Design 337RLS. With the pin box style, I don't need to use the slide function, but I have it if I need it. My truck is a 6'6" box, so my next trailer may need it.
