Question:
Hello, I built a custom van for a client and theyd like to add air bag suspension on the rear axle. The van is a 2023 Ford Transit Trail 350. The Transit Trail is a special model that has a ford factory lift kit installed. Can you help me choose the correct airbags for this vehicle? Id like airbags with no internal jouncers and am also going to add a dual path air compressor system with remote. Thanks for your help.

I sure can Andy, and welcome back! To add a set of air bags to your client's 2023 Ford Transit Trail 350, I recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs item # F53ZR. These are 5,000 lbs capacity air bags that do not include a jounce bumper. All brackets and necessary hardware needed for installation are included.
I prefer Firestone Air Bags like item # F53ZR over Air Lifts because of how the rubber bag is incorporated into the top and bottom metal brackets when constructed. This is a far more reliable construction method that doesn't require jounces to prevent the bracket's breaking like Air Lifts.
As far as the factory lift goes on the Trail 350 edition, you may need the 2" Lift Spacers item # F2366 or the 1-1/4" Spacers item # F2536. The information I could find states the Trail 350 edition has a 2-1/4" suspension lift. It doesn't go into specifics about how much of a lift they put into the rear, which are typically just lifting blocks.
What you'll want to do is look and see if there's a lifting block installed and measure how tall it is. If the lift is less than 1-1/2" in the rear you won't need a spacer.
For a dual path onboard air compressor, I recommend the Firestone item # F36VV. This onboard compressor will allow you to adjust the PSI in your air bags from your phone or the included remote.

Hi Jerred, Thanks so much for your help with this order. I had contacted Firestone about this question as well and just received a reply. They recommended the 2621 kit for the airbag portion of this application. It looks like your recommendation is a different number so just wanted to see what your thoughts are on this. I've already ordered the parts you recommended. Thanks for your help,. Andy
