Does 2014 Volkswagen Touareg Still Need OEM Components to Install Brake Controller

Question:
I purchased this for my 2014 Volkswagen Touareg- it is listed as compatible. But I am also aware there is is a bulletin on the etrailer website saying parts are needed for installation of other Tekonsha controllers on Touaregs: 1 connector housing 1J0-972-782 and 2 wire/terminal assemblies 000-979-228. Do I still need to purchase the above connector and wires to make this controller work? Thanks!

Hey Brendan, this is a great question but yes you do still need those Porsche/VW components to install the Tekonsha iD brake controller part # TK26BR as those are parts they are only able to get. What are you planning on towing?

I put one my Lexus RX 350. Put in the glove box. Works great.
