No, Josh. The PingMaster trailer tracker devices like 3000 # PM84FR and 5000 # PM74FR don’t require you to connect to a WiFi network. They automatically use nearby WiFi signals when available and ping off it, along with cellular data. GPS remains the primary method whenever satellites are reachable.
