What’s the real difference between the PingMaster 5000 with WiFi and without WiFi?

Great question, Alan. The PingMaster 5000 # PM64FR and PingMaster 5000 w/ WiFi Backup # PM74FR share the same battery, size, and 5,000-ping capacity. The difference is the extra coverage when GPS signal is bad and the tracker has a difficult time pinging.
The # PM74FR can use nearby WiFi networks (doesn't actually connect to the WiFi) and cellular signal when GPS signals are weak, like inside buildings. The # PM64FR relies on GPS with cellular fallback only. If your trailer ever sits indoors or in low-signal areas, the WiFi backup is worth it. The WiFi also works well when the trailer is going through residential or populated areas that have tons of WiFi networks to ping off of.
Where is your trailer typically stored? Outdoors, or in a warehouse or storage buidling?
