Do You Have a Replacement Lock Core for My A.R.E. Cap on My 2018 Ford F-150?

Hello Chris,

We should have a solution for you, but it will depend on exactly what style of lock and handle your A.R.E. cap is using.

First, does your A.R.E. cap use BOLT brand locks that key to your truck’s ignition key? If so, we may be able to use a BOLT replacement cylinder like the Replacement Lock Cylinder for BOLT Toolbox Latch # BL692917, but I would want to confirm the style of your handle and lock before saying for sure.

Please respond directly to the email you receive with clear pictures of the handle, the face of the lock, and the yellow lock code sticker next to the lock. That will let us be sure we match you up with the correct parts.

Another option is to switch over to a new handle assembly like the Pop & Lock Power Locking Handle for Truck Caps and Hard Tonneau Covers # PAL9555, as long as your A.R.E. cap meets the following requirements:

- Your truck has factory power door locks
- Your truck cap has a frameless, bonded glass door with a 1 1/8 inch center hole for a rotary latch

Has the core completely failed, or is it just starting to slip or bind when you turn the key?

Hey Chris, what ended up happening with the locks on your A.R.E. cap? Were you able to match the handle style and find a replacement cylinder or decide to go with the Pop & Lock handle instead? Your update could make it easier for others dealing with worn lock cylinders.

@KateF it would be easier to send a picture but I don’t know your email , I have a2018 ford f-150 the key fab has a small key that pops out of side,this key also opens all three locks ,the locks have yellow stickers by them with numbers that say do not remove I’m assuming their tumbler numbers, do you want this number,I do not have a glass door it’s a construction cap that came with truck that is ARE brand ,I need locks before someone robs me of my tools

@KateF my key does not match those compatible keys you have it’s a key fab key that also starts the truck and opens the tool boxes , it’s all aluminum work truck cap ,there are yellow stickers with numbers and says do not remove , is this the lock tumbler ID number
