What Is The Hitch Height If I Replace My Lippert 1621 With The MORryde GooseTech?

Updated 12/29/2025 | Published 12/06/2025

Question:

2008 Keystone Sprinter 294FWBHS that I believe has the 1621 pin box will confirm before ordering. I am not sure the correct way to ask this. What I am needing to know is what the expected pin height will be after install. I have a 2016 GMC 2500 that has a 4inch lift. Will be reducing the lift, at present the bed height is 62. I believe I can reduce the lift by 2, get another 1 1/2-2inch with new wheels, and likely do an axel flip would like to do this regardless. It is claimed that this years Sprinter line had a higher pin height than most.

Hey Bill,

Assuming it is the 1621 pin box, which is the most common, you are going to want the MORryde GooseTech # MR97MV. This pin box replacement is designed to be the same hitch height as what it replaces. Since I don't have a 1621 pin box in front of me I did some more digging and found that the most common hitch height for that pin box is around 19-1/6" so you can expect to be in that range.

If for some reason you cannot find the model number, you can send me the serial number of the pin box and I can reach out to Lippert to confirm what pin box you currently have.

Hey Bill, how did things turn out with the MORryde GooseTech pin box on your Sprinter? Did the hitch height end up matching what you expected after adjusting your truck’s lift? Your update could make it easier for others working through a similar setup.
