Are Air Lift Spacers the Same as Cradles for 2024 Toyota Tundra TRD PRO

Updated 12/07/2025 | Published 11/28/2025

Question:

I have a 2024 Tundra TRD PRO with the factory lift and tires/wheels. I will be overlanding, towing an OFF GRID TRAILERS Expedition 3.0 with a GVWR of 3500 lbs, tongue weight loaded ~400 lbs. I want to preserve departure angle and maintain a level or slightly nose down stance. Interested in the LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate and compressor. Research on X noted that I would need the Daystar cradles (KU09146BK) to prevent the bags from rubbing. Do the spacers noted above, (#AL52420), replace the need for the Daystar cradles or do they solve a different problem?

Hey Chuck! The spacers # AL52420 are designed to close the gap on lifted applications so the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs # AL24JQ fit/engage properly. Cradles remove one of the attachment points on the brackets so you can get full suspension travel.

If you want to use cradles I recommend using the actual Air Lift Cradles # AL59DQ. These can still be used with the spacers to make up for the lift on your 2024 Tundra TRD Pro. However, I would go ahead and measure to make sure it is necessary with the cradles added in since they have a little height to them. You can use the following formula to determine if a spacer is needed:

BRACKETS - CRADLE THICKNESS (.83") - LIFT SPACER HEIGHT = ____ (DESIGN HEIGHT)

The recommended design height for these air bags is 6". You will need to measure the distance between where the brackets mount on your Tundra and then see if the spacer is required to meet the 6" design height.
