Does Thomas Payne Seismic Recliner Need Wall Clearance? Or Can It Be Placed Next To Wall?

Published 11/11/2025

Question:

I noticed the Seismic recliners all say “no wall clearance required.” Does that really mean I can place the Dellmead TP42AR and McCoy TP72AR just a few inches from the wall?

Yes, it does, Sharon. Each Thomas Payne Seismic recliner - Dellmead # TP42AR / # TP45AR or McCoy # TP72AR # TP75AR - only needs about 3 inches of clearance behind it to recline fully. The frame pivots forward instead of backward, so they’re ideal for slideouts and narrow spaces. Just make sure cords aren’t pinched when the seats move.

Do you currently have a recliner in this spot?
