Will Seismic Recliner From Thomas Payne Have Enough Legroom For Tall People?

Updated 11/12/2025 | Published 11/11/2025

Question:

We’re tall - I’m 6' 3 and my wife’s 5' 11. Will the Seismic recliners have enough legroom when fully extended?

They should, Jeff. When fully open, each Thomas Payne Seismic Power Recliner - whether you choose the Dellmead woven fabric models (Left Arm # TP45AR and Right Arm # TP42AR) or the McCoy PolyHyde faux leather models (Left Arm # TP75AR and Right Arm # TP72AR) - extends to about 64 inches deep. That gives solid support for anyone up to roughly 6'4" before your feet start to hang off. The power headrest adjustment helps fine-tune the angle, so taller folks can still recline comfortably even in compact RV slideouts.

It’s tough to find residential-style recliners with that kind of depth in an RV footprint - these are about as close as you’ll get to a home recliner while keeping a lightweight, no-wall-clearance design.

If your layout allows, you can pair a left and right seat together or add one of the matching Seismic center consoles - either the 5" versions ( # TP28AR in Dellmead, # TP33AR in McCoy) or the 12" USB/AC Outlet versions ( # TP48AR in Dellmead, # TP78AR in McCoy) - to complete the setup.

What model RV do you have, and how much slide depth are we working with? That’ll help confirm which configuration fits best in your space.

Thanks Andrew. I’ve got about 66" from the wall to the island, so it sounds like we’re good. My only worry is foot support. does the leg rest angle high enough?

@Jeff Jeff, with about 66" of space, you’ll be really close. The Seismic recliners open to around 64" when fully extended, so you’ll be able to recline most of the way but your feet may touch the island when all the way down. Most taller folks end up just adjusting the seat forward about 3/4 of the way. The nice thing is that the power headrest lets you fine-tune the angle, so even if you can’t open it 100%, you’ll still have a relaxed stretch position.
