Question:

What’s a good upgrade option if my forest river RV came with standard Thomas Payne recliners?

Hey there Kirt. If your coach already has Thomas Payne theater seating, the Seismic line Dellmead # TP42AR / # TP45AR or McCoy # TP72AR / # TP75AR is the natural step up. You’ll gain heat, massage, LED lighting, and USB-C ports, all while keeping the same footprint and no-wall-clearance design. They even fit through the same 26 inch door openings.

What year and model is your RV? I can double-check the space, so you don’t lose walkway clearance when reclined.
Also, you can always add center consoles to these setups if you want.

Appreciate the advice, Andrew. We went with the Seismic Dellmead pair and couldn’t be happier. The heat and massage are worth every penny!

@Kirt Love hearing that, Kirt - those upgrades really transform long travel days. The Dellmead fabric also keeps things cooler in summer than the vinyl models. Did you end up keeping your original setup or add one of the Seismic consoles in between?

We have a 2024 Renegade Vienna VFWC and it has 72 inch theater seating. The seats are not very comfortable and we had looked at a forest river that had power theater seating that was very comfortable! We are thinking about changing and we really like the power seating that can stop in any position. Will the Thomas Payne seats work and will they require any special electrical connections? Thanks Bob

@RobertC Hey there! Yes you can absolutely adjust the Thomas Payne Seismic theater seating to any position that you want. It has several adjustments for reclining, lumbar, legs etc. If you have 72" now, you'd likely want to do a left, right, and big center console which would put total width right around 67" or so. For example, the Thomas Payne Seismic Left Recliner # TP45AR, Right Recliner # TP42AR, and 12" Center Console (with power outlets) # TP48AR. These three units all connect to each other with included brackets, and all wire to a normal AC 120v outlet. There are different colors and materials if this is not the most ideal look for your RV :). Just let me know!
