Question:
I tow a 2017 Big Country 3510RL with a GMC short bed. My current Furion Vision S approx 7 years old has a poor signal. Screen video freezes and / or lose picture all together when towing. I’ve tried the aftermarket booster in a pigtail but those messed with systems on the truck. Does this version of the vision S have improved signal strength and reliability?

Hey Bud! The Furrion Vision S # FOS05TASF will be the same as your current camera. Even if it was an upgrade, I wouldn't recommend purchasing it since the Vision S is getting replaced and before long parts won't be available if you need them. Is your camera system actually malfunctioning or do you know if this is from the PWM (pulse width modulation) power supply in your truck? Newer trucks with PWM don't deliver constant 12V power to these camera systems so an adapter is required for them to work properly.
The newest version is the Furrion Vision S+ Wireless RV Backup System # FR57AD. If your Vision S is failing due to age or another malfunction this will eliminate the freezing and lost picture you have been experiencing so you will have a much better towing experience. If you want to add side cameras as well you can use the # FR64AD instead. If it is the PWM problem this will still require the # FR87PR adapter or you can permanently install # VGR64VR on the trailer side.

Thank you. That’s the adaptor that I tried. 2 of them didn’t work. I returned them to e-trailer. They froze my left turn signal and caused error messages on the driver info center. That rear camera is the only one I need. The GMC has 360 cameras already. If there’s one with a stronger signal let me know. But could be the power issue you mentioned. Thank you.
