I am sorry but you will not be able to secure a chain inside the ICON Trailer Coupler Lock for Cast 2-5/16" Ball Coupler - Cast and Stainless Steel - Black # AL98DQ. The ICON locks are built like Fort Knox, if there were extra room for a chain it would make it easier for those pesky thieves to get it off.
