Will LT285/70 R17 Tires on a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Fit a Roadmaster Tow Dolly RM3477?

Updated 11/06/2025 | Published 10/29/2025

Question:

Im looking for straps for LT285/70 R17 tires for a Towmaster RM 3477 tow dolly. The straps I have are too small for this tire size.

Hey Scott. I checked with Roadmaster and there's no larger size straps. The Roadmaster Tow Dolly RM3477 our item # RM-2050-1 won't work with tires as large as your LT285/70 R17 tires. The dolly only works with tires that have diameters of 30" or less and 11" or less in tread width.

What vehicle are you wanting to dolly tow behind your motorhome?

@ScottS I highly recommend going with a flat tow set up then. You're a couple inches off from those straps fitting your Jeep tires in both directions. Here are the parts you will need to flat tow your 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon: Tow Bar and Safety Chains - etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plates item # e74ZR Base Plate Kit - Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms item # RM35GR Wiring Harness - Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit item # RM-15267. This diode kit allows you to use your Jeep's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV. This kit will come with a 6-way socket for your Jeep as well as an adapter cable to go from the vehicle to the motorhome. Please note that if your Jeep has ParkSense Proximity Sensors then you will need the Roadmaster Smart Diode Kit for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights item # RM63MR instead. Supplemental Braking System - Curt RVi Series Shadow 2 Flat Tow Brake System item # RVI94FR for a permanent install or the Curt RVi Series 4 Portable Flat Tow Brake System item # RVI44FR for a portable system. High Low Adapter - The tow bar needs to be within 3" of level. If you measure the height of the inside top of the hitch receiver tube on your RV, and the height difference is more than 3 inches above/below the base plate tab height, you'll need a high/low adapter. I have linked a FAQ article that explains all this in more detail along with our selection of adapters.
