Hey John, it doesn't look like your 1998 Newmar Dutchstar motorhome has a brake controller install harness on it which means you would need to hardwire the install the P3 part # 90195. Does the motorhome have any trailer wiring currently like a 4-way or 7-way?

Yes. It has a 7 way.

@John We have a kit for installing brake controllers in vehicles with a 7-way with the part # 5506. But the wiring is only 25 foot which is probably not long enough for a motorhome. So instead I would determine how much wiring you would need to get from where you want to mount the brake controller to your battery and then from the brake controller back to the 7-way. Then order a length of the # 10-2-1 to go from the battery to the brake controller (this is for power and ground for it) and then # 10-1-1 to go from the controller back to the 7-way. You'll also need the breaker part # PK54530 for on the power wire that runs to the battery and you'd be set. On the brake controller the blue wire goes to the 7-way, the black to the power wire of the battery, white to battery ground, and red goes to a circuit on the brake pedal switch that has 12 volts only when the brakes are applied. You would need a circuit tester like the part # PTW2993 to find that circuit.
