This Curt trailer hitch receiver brings solid towing strength to your setup. With a Class III rating, it handles up to 5,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 500 lbs tongue weight. When used with weight distribution, that bumps up to 6,000 lbs GTW and 600 lbs TW. It’s built for hauling small trailers, utility loads, or even adding a cargo carrier for extra space. The 2" x 2" receiver opening matches the size used by most ball mounts, bike racks, and carriers, so you can hook up the gear you already own without adapters.
This fully welded hitch bolts right to your vehicle’s frame—no welding or special tools needed. Every piece of mounting hardware is included, and the holes line up with factory points for a clean, precise fit. The square-tube design adds strength without complicating the install, making it a straightforward DIY project you can handle in your driveway with basic tools.
The hitch is made from sturdy steel and finished in a gloss black powder coat layered over a protective base coat for superior rust resistance. That finish helps keep it looking sharp even after years of towing or exposure to the elements. Precision robotic welding strengthens each connection for durability you can trust every trip.
Whether you’re towing a small camper or carrying bikes to the trailhead, this hitch gives you the flexibility to get it done right. It’s designed for towing setups where the ball mount, pin, and clip are sold separately—so you can choose exactly what fits your needs best and build out your hitch system your way.

Hitch has survived another year of neglect and frozensalty Michigan winters. Theres some of rust, but Ive owned hitches for 50 years and none have escaped that. Holding up as good or better than most. Its on a 2000 Frontier crew cab and at this point its likely stronger than the frame its bolted to. lol

Thanks for the follow up John. I did want to let you know that I checked with Curt and they do not have any notes of any interference with the exhaust or tailpipe of your Frontier. I am glad that you were able to make it work, but also wanted to let you know that sometimes if there is an issue with exhaust clearance the exhaust hangers can usually be slightly bent to allow the hitch to be installed. I have include a link to one of our help articles for your reference.

After a year, this hitch has been used many times for a large steel bike rack 4 mountain bikes at a time, towing cars, off-road recovery, etc. I havent been nice to it but I also had any issues with it. I have dragged it over rocks and backed it into a couple concrete walls as well. I trust it completely.
