Great question, Anthony!
The B&W Companion locks in place the same way the gooseneck ball would get locked into place. The gooseneck hitch that the B&W Companion attaches to has a lever that you can get to via the wheel well. I included two snips of part # BWGNRK1116 showing the lever in the locked and unlocked position. There is also a review video linked for ya to look at. Just past the one minute mark in the video you will see our installer Jesse shows how the lever works.
