Best Rodent Deterrent for RV Engine Bay During Winter Storage

Published 09/22/2025

Question:

We park our 2018 Winnebago Minnie Winnie in Michigan over the winter and always find chewed wires in the engine bay come spring. Would the MouseBlocker Classic MB44FR be enough, or should I step up to the Pro MB94FR?

Cheryl, the Classic # MB44FR is designed exactly for that kind of enclosed engine bay. It wires straight to your RV’s 12V battery, draws almost no power (about like an LCD clock), and keeps a constant ultrasonic signal bouncing around under the hood. If you want an extra layer of defense, the Pro # MB94FR adds flashing LEDs and higher output settings, which can be helpful if you’ve had stubborn repeat visitors.

Do you keep your RV on a battery maintainer while in storage? That might help decide which one’s the better fit for you.
