Question:
I own a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wildnerness. I have a 7 pin already installed when I got the Curt Bluetooth controller. I hate it. Would the RED52VR be able to use that same connector and just have to add the dash switch?

Hi Elizabeth!
I'll be honest, I don't particularly like the Curt Bluetooth controllers either. The Redarc controllers on the other hand, I very much like and the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness # RED52VR is a fantastic one to go with.
As to connecting it, that will depend on how the 7-way was wired into your 2024 Subaru Crosstrek. Odds are you will need the parts I have listed below as only the wire from the battery to the 7-way was connected. If you look at the diagram I have included, you will likely need to wire all the connections for the actual brake controller, but not the 12v black wire going from the battery to the 7-way.
Qty.1 of 30 amp. In-Line Circuit Breaker - Perpendicular Mount Bracket # 38630
Qty.2 of Ring Terminal - 12-10 Gauge Wire - 3/16" Ring ID # 44-5310A
Qty.2 of Ring Terminal - 12-10 Gauge Wire - 5/16" Ring ID # 44-5356A
Qty.1 of Quick Splices - Self-Stripping Connector - Closed Port - 10-12 Gauge # SWC501915-1
Qty.1 of Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector - 12-10 Gauge - Nylon Insulation - Yellow - Qty 5 # DW05745-5
Qty.30 of 10 Gauge Wire - Blue Primary - Per Foot # 10-1-1 (this will likely be more than you actually need, but it never hurts to have extra wire)
I know this looks like a lot of stuff and work, but it is actually easier than you think. I included an install video we did on a 2019 Forster that will end up being very similar to what you will need to do.
Out of curiosity, what kind of trailer are you towing?

I see the wiring diagram, but not the link to the video. Thank you. I am towing a T@B 320 Lite. About 1900 pounds empty.
