Question:

Since the 2022 Toyota Venza is built on the same platform as the RAV4 does that mean both vehicles take the exact same trailer hitch?

Hi Steven!

Most of the hitches available for a 2022 Toyota Venza will fit a RAV4 as well, but not all of them. The Curt # C77MJ and EcoHitch # EH97FR will fit both models, but the Draw-Tite # DT46MR will only fit the Venza and Draw-Tite # DT82QR will only fit the RAV4.

With that said, I like Curt hitches and that would be the one I went for. Fitting both is just a plus.

What are you wanting the hitch for?

I certainly don't want it for towing on a regular basis. Possibly to use with a luggage rack that goes into a 2 inch receiver or possibly to move furniture locally or bring home a small amount of building materials like a few sheets of drywall from Lowe's. With a Uhaul trailer

I understand that the trailer hitch may cause the rear power hatch not to work as designed by kicking you foot under the bumper. Is it possible to offset the hitch or is that not always a problem?

@StevenS Hitches can cause the kick sensors to be a little finicky, but I have never actually seen one completely negate them. You will just need to put your foot on either side of the receiver tube to find that sweet spot and it will work as normal.
