Running trailer wiring doesn’t have to mean cutting into factory circuits. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector plugs directly into the factory wiring behind the driver’s-side tail light. The included powered converter isolates the trailer load, so you get solid signal lighting without tapping or splicing any wires.
The harness uses factory-style connectors that fit right into existing junction points. Since it mounts behind trim panels near the rear lights, there’s no need to route wires across the vehicle. I bought a Curt hitch for my 2016 Acura MDX and it fit perfectly. Also bought a Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness with 4 pole Flat Trailer Connector and, following the simple instructions, installation was quick and simple. I'm happy to recommend etrailer.com.
The hitch was easy to install and seems to be pretty solid.
This is a great plug and play product...great instructions with great photos. One complaint I might have is the little black box came with a double sided sticky pad that even though I cleaned the metal surface for, it won’t stick so for now I zip ties it to a body wiring harness. The harness won’t be needed very often in this case. They wanted the hitch more for hauling bicycles on a carrier. But when they do they will have to drape it out through the hatch. If you want to have the plug outside near the hitch you will have to find a place to run it through the body on yourself. The wiring on this harness is very good quality. Very similar to OEM, the connector too!
Perfect fit in my wife’s 2015 MDX. Took me about 20 minutes to install. Only drawback was that it didn’t come with the low profile mini fuse of 7.5 required in slot 11. Fortunately these are easily found an inexpensive at any automotive store.
This is my fourth order from etrailer and like every other order, it was perfect, from order ease to shipping to installation.

This is a great easy to install, after market, flat 4 trailer wiring setup for the 2014 MDX. Installation was very simple and quick. I returned my Acura OEM part once I verified this was working. The Acura part cost three times as much as this part. If you need brake wiring setup, you will need the Acura part.

HI Mike,I also have a 2014 MDX and have ordered the Curt hitch and wiring harness. I called the Acura dealership to see if I needed the additional relay and they couldnt tell me. They could only tell me what was included in the Acura Trailer Hitch Kit. Am I correct in your comment above that you didnt need it? Did you have to get the brake wiring set up from Acura?thanks, becky

Installed this on our 2016 Acura MDX and couldn't have been more simple. I do recommend watching the installation video and you should be able to install this without even looking at the directions, but the printed instructions are pretty clear as well. This is a plug and play installation for my vehicle anyway and the testing LED worked well also. I chose to drop the harness down through the gromet in the floor pan instead of hanging it out under the tailgate for a cleaner installation but that is a personal preference. The entire installation took about 20 minutes.

Sold the vehicle where it was originally installed but purchased a 2018 same vehicle and installed one in the new one as well. Installation was exactly the same on the 2018 and product works well.

I’ve used it for bike racks and cargo racks and it works very well.
Worked as advertised, video was a great help. Used it with a Curt hitch bought from etrailer one year before.
I love these 'plug & play' options for vehicles! I don't know why anyone would damage the original wiring by splicing into the existing harness and creating a possible short. This is probably the fourth one I've installed on various vehicles without any problems. It literally took me 15 minutes to plug this into the existing harness and it works perfectly.
Super fast delivery, good packaging. Just finished installation, including 4 pin wire harness, took me about 1.5hrs, instructions were excellent.Hardest part was lifting hitch up for alignment underneath, an extra set of hands would have been nice. Glad did myself, great product, love the powder coat, also saved a few hundred $$, thanks
