Will Curt Hitch C47HR Obstruct Kick Sensor On 2025 Subaru Forester?
Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 09/07/2025 >
Question:
Will the kick toe option to open the rear hatch on a 2025 Subaru Forester still works after installing a Curt C47HR hitch or it needs to be bypassed ?

Hello Charles, thanks for reaching out. The Curt Trailer Hitch # C47HR is correct for your 2025 Subaru Forester. The kick sensor will still work, but the area directly under the hitch will be blocked. I expect you will need to wave your foot on either side of the receiver to get it to activate. So the sensor will still function, it will just work a bit differently.
Take a look at the install video I linked.
What do you plan to use the hitch for? Are you towing a trailer?

Hey Charles, did you have a chance to try out the kick sensor with the hitch installed? I'm curious to know if waving your foot on either side worked for you. Your experience could really help others with a similar setup.
