Features to know about

Add Functionality Without Heavy Modifications: Custom-Fit, Bolt-On Design

This hitch is made for light-duty towing and quick DIY installs. It bolts right up without any welding and includes the full hardware kit and instructions for a clean setup in your own driveway. The precision, robotic welding ensures a strong, snug fit that lines up with factory holes, which means you won’t waste time fighting misaligned mounts or drilling new ones.

Haul Small Trailers or Racks with Confidence: Class I Strength Rated for 2,000 lbs GTW and 200 lbs TW

With a Class I rating, this 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver gives you the capacity to tow up to 2,000 lbs gross trailer weight and handle 200 lbs of tongue weight. It’s ideal for small boats, utility trailers, or lightweight campers. The square-tube design keeps everything steady on the road, while the 1/2" hitch pin hole fits standard Class I accessories.

Keep It Looking Good Over Time: Gloss Black Powder Coat Over Protective Base

The gloss black powder coat finish over a protective base coat resists rust and corrosion in all weather conditions. The smooth finish looks sharp under the bumper and stands up to gravel spray, moisture, and daily wear better than basic painted steel.

Ready for Everyday Utility: Works with Ball Mounts, Racks, and Carriers

Swap out attachments as your needs change—tow a small trailer one weekend and run a cargo carrier or bike rack the next. The receiver’s standard 1-1/4" opening is compatible with Class I accessories like drawbars, cargo platforms, and bike racks rated for this size. Just add your own drawbar, pin, and clip when you’re ready to go.

A few parts were missing when I received my order. I had to cut and weld to make a piece that was missing and buy a few nuts that were missing. The hitch it's self is fine. Install took many hours due to missing parts.

by:

This product was great very easy to install and I used it to tow my motorcycle to the track 3-6hrs away. I have no complaints great for my Acura Ilx.

by:

Perfect fit for my 2015 Civic SI coupe. Small modification to the muffler heat shield, a pair of descent size scissors will do the job. It's mainly used for hauling my bicycle around. Would highly recommend it.

by:

The only thing that was difficult was getting the rubber muffler hanger back on, there was not much space to do it after putting the hitch frame right next to it. The hitch was installed on a 2015 Honda Civic Si.

by:

Install took about 1.5 hours with excellent instructions and install video. The package arrived quickly, free of any damage. etrailer has the best customer service I’ve ever dealt with. I’ll definitely buy from them again.

by:

This is a high quality hitch from Curt, an American company, I think it is also made in America as well. Compared to the competition this looked more robust and had more mounting hardware and points of contact. They are some how cheaper than the other foreign companies. No problems with stuff made in other countries but these days it’s great to buy American, we only have a few companies left in certain industries.

by:

Hitch was just as shown and described. Shipping was fast and free, and with the youtube video installing was relatively easy. I have little experience with this kind of thing and went at it solo. I didn't even jack it up. Would not recommend but I managed to pull it off

by:

This is the 4th hitch I’ve installed bought from etrailer.com for the purpose of using hitch mounted bike racks. They were all pretty easy to do after watching the video and reading the provided instructions.

by:

This is the first time I have ever attemped to mount a hitch! My Tacoma came with one already installed. The packaging was heavy duty! The hitch is very well made! It fit perfectly. The instructions are simple, yet very informative with clear pictures to aid your understanding. They really helped me! The fishwires are a priceless addition that makes the job so much easier! I haven't pulled a trailer yet, but I see no reason to expect any issues.

by:

This is a really nice trailer hitch. I bought it for my 08 civic. It fit really well and is sturdy. I've had it for about a year now and no rust so far. Would recommend.

by:

I'm happy to report that after a year, it has performed its job satisfactory.
It was a pain to fish the 2 bolts into the holes, it seems that there's only just barely enough room to get the bolts to the right position to pull through the holes. Probably internal bends or ridges in the way in the car frame.
First side was 15+minutes, but It took me a good hour for other side.
I wonder now if I could have swapped things to make it easier, or if I was doing it wrong to begin with.
But either way, I towed a 4x8 enclosed uhaul trailer packed full and possibly over weight for 1000 miles and had no problems at all with handling or performance.

by:

This is my 2nd Curt hitch purchased through eTrailer originally had one on my 2012 Ford Fiesta hatch, the Civic unit went on without a "hitch".. lol. Great instructions and hardware, fast shipping and great service from eTrailer as always. Pictured with the Curt 2" Euro ball.

by:

Very fast delivery, hitch broke out of delivery box but only a little chipped paint. Pictures in directions were hard to see but there are great videos online. Installation pretty easy for the most part. Great product well worth the investment. I bought a Swagman bike rack as well both are bullet proof. Highly recommend ETrailer.com and these products.

by:

Sort of an odd installation but I guess I didn't know what to expect with my 08 civic sedan. I followed the instructional video on etrailer, which simplified everything for me! I don't plan on towing anything with it, just needed it for a Thule bike rack.

by:

Great product! Easy to install. Pictures for what you have to cut are not clear, but I figured out what I needed to cut. Since I don’t own a truck, this is a way for me to have a way to carry large items on a trailer & not need to borrow someone’s truck.

Perfect

by:

Let me start off by saying that this is an excellent product. Installation was a breeze and it was a complete bolt on. No modifications was needed.

I have a 2013 Honda Civic Si Coupe and the only issue I ran into during the install was the hitch hitting the exhaust hanger for the rear muffler. The only reason this happened was because I have an aftermarket exhaust system and I am using polyurethane exhaust hangers. These hangers are thicker than OEM. It still bolted right up with alittle tweaking. I also left the rear splash panel and heat shield off for now. If your running a stock exhaust hanger, you will not run into the issue I did. So don't let that steer you away, lol.

Overall welds are great, and the construction is perfect. I would recommend this kit to anyone.

by:

Very nice quality hitch, I had the same one on my previous car. Installation isn't too bad, it helps having another person to tighten the bolts while you hold the hitch up to the car. The exhaust hanger is difficult to get back on when installing on an ILX, it wasn't as bad on my Civic

by:

good enough to make it my first purchase review. installed on my 09 civic si. For those frustrated with the written instructions, the video on how to install is thorough and easy to follow, etrailer went the extra step to supply exactly what is needed to install and installation is extremely easy, a simple socket socket and a tin snips is all you need. i was able to install myself without lifting the car at all. the plug and play wiring harness that is sold separate. was simple and works well to pull my boat trailer. Have recommended this product to others

by:

Hitch arrived in a timely fashion. Installation was a breeze and the fit and finish were perfect. Wiring harness hooked up perfectly. etrailer made the whole process simple. I just ordered another hitch and harness for our new car.

by:

Fits great works great. The installation instructions are not so great. Pictures on instructions are terrible. Thank goodness for YouTube!

by:

I’m giving this 5 stars with one condition: E trailer should review the diagram showing where to cut the trim pieces underneath the car.
The videos on the website were a huge help, and I strongly recommend that anyone buying this product watch the full video before starting the installation.
The hardest part of the process was moving the exhaust out of the way enough to get proper clearance. I was able to install the hitch receiver in about an hour.
As mentioned, the diagram shows where to cut the plastic trim but does not clearly cover the heat shield. I was able to figure that part out by watching the video.

Overall the product is well made seems sturdy and comes with good weather resistant hardware.

I also purchased the matching wiring harness. The wiring harness was super simple to install its literally just plugging in connecters its hard to mess up because the connectors for brake and blinker lights are different sizes which helps

by:

Easy to install even tho instructions were too brief and diagrams too small. This was my 2nd order and was disappointed that the wiring harness didnt come with it. It did before.

We do have an install video that might be helpful, I'll link it for you. Unfortunately, the wiring harness is sold separately. If you have a gas (not hybrid) Civic sedan, use # C56011. For a hybrid, use # C59236 or # C56051 for a Coupe.

by:

Was able to install in a couple of hours with the car up on jack-stands. Definitely recommend a second person, but instructions were clear (video instructions were super helpful) and install wasn't too difficult!

@David Nice! Glad to hear you are getting good use out of it! What's the next trip you have planned?

by:

Fits on the Honda Civic it was designed for. Installation could have better illustrations for the heat shield over the exhaust cut outs. Also, for fishing the bolts with locking plate a note to go slightly past the hole and then back again to account for bolt rotation clearance in the frame.

  • Recommended 2" Hitch for 2007 Honda Civic Coupe EX
Hey Alison! Yes, the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7233 is a confirmed fit for your 2007 Honda Civic Coupe EX. It gives you the 2" receiver you're looking for, and the only modification required is some minor trimming of the lower fascia. The hitch does come with all of the hardware and installation instructions needed to install it yourself. Since the EcoHitch mounts behind the rear bumper, though, the installation is more involved than a typical hitch and requires removing...

  • Need Replacement U-Bolt For Curt Trailer Hitch
Hello Frederic. The Curt hitch for the 2022 Kia Seltos # C65FR does not come with a U-bolt. Are you referring to a different hitch perhaps? I see that you were looking at the # C11391 hitch on our site which is for the 2006-2015 Honda Civic. This hitch does use a U-bolt to connect to the tow loop. The U-bolt is 8 - 16 x 1.00 x 1.88. • Recommended Hitch Receiver for 2015 Honda Civic Towing Jet Ski Trailer
Yes, the Curt # C11391 would work, but there are some other factors that really make the EcoHitch a much better option. First, considering you've got a 2015 Honda Civic, ground clearance is going to be an issue since both the cross tube and receiver will sit below the bumper, making it much more prone to bottoming out. Because the EcoHitch # 306-X7235 has a concealed cross tube that mounts behind the bumper, it's going to give you some extra ground clearance that's going to be extremely...

  • Why Does Curt Require Support Straps on their Hitch Receivers
I have spoke with my contact at Curt numerous times regarding the requirement of the stabilizing/support strap, # 18050. Curt requires this strap in order to alleviate the leveraging affect that a non-trailer load places on a hitch like part # C11391. At Curt they like to use the example of carrying a gallon of milk. I'm sorry to say that the hitch you have for a 7th generation Civic (2000-2005 model years) won't fit an 8th generation model (2005-2011).
