What Can I do to Lift My 2001 Casita 17 Spirit Deluxe with Torflex # 10 Axle?

Updated 09/13/2025 | Published 08/16/2025

Question:

I have a 2001 Casita 17 Spirit Deluxe. I want to lift it. I read a few things on here but wanted to verify what I should buy. I think it is a Dexter TorFlex axle. Ric

Hello Ric,

I have a great option for you, but you will need to confirm that you have the Dexter Torflex # 10 axle.

By installing the Torflex Lift Kit - Single Axle Lift # K71-707-01 it will give you a 2 5/8" lift. I attached an image to show you exactly where it installs, right behind you wheels.

Is this what you were thinking about getting? Have you been on any adventures this summer? Where have you been, or where are you headed?

Hey Ric, Did you have a chance to confirm if you have the Dexter Torflex #10 axle for your Casita? I'm curious if the lift kit worked out for you and how your adventures have been going with the new setup. Your experience could really help others looking to lift their trailers!

@KateF, It is not a Dexter #10. I have a 2001 Casita and did not realize the axel is welded to the frame. First time I have seen that. Casita started using bolt on axels in or about 2004. I will need to remove the entire axel and install a new Dexter #10. I ordered the kit as recommended but it will need to be welded on and a new axel added. Ric
