I have a R 15 six lug rim and spare tire that I want to mount to a 3 x 5 trailer side rail. Is there a mount available?

Hi Mike!

We do have an option that will fit a 3" x 5" frame rail and can be used with a 6 lug 15" wheel. You will want the Extra Offset Trailer Spare Tire Mount by Dutton-Lainson # DL22145. This will bolt on and you are good to go. It is on the expensive side, but it will definitely work.

If you don't mind doing some DIY work, I like the Redline Spare Tire Carrier # 413200. It would either need to be welded on or you could drill through your frame and the carrier, but this could be mounted wherever you wanted. I've seen some interesting installs with this and I included an image of one suck install. It would be more work, but I would probably go this way. Plus it's less expensive.

What kind of trailer are you wanting this for?

Hi Mike, Did you decide to go with the Extra Offset Trailer Spare Tire Mount or try the DIY route with the Redline Spare Tire Carrier? I'm curious to know how it worked out for your trailer, as it could help others looking for similar solutions.
