Question:
Good morning, I have a 2003 Forest River Cardinal 5th wheel, and I want to change the original ducted AC unit on it. It is a Due-Therm, Quick cool unit with a Duo-Therm thermostat with these numbers 0n it. 3107612.008 0233. The ac unit numbers are 5 1W0119530000 Rev c 26715 GD 3106341-021-A Aug 7th 02 I want to keep the thermostat working the heating unit. I would really like one with a remote if possible. The more CFM possible would be a big help. Can you get me a full package to replace mine? Thanks, Erich

Hey Erich! I can definitely help you find a replacement for your Dometic Duo-Therm AC. Since you want a high capacity and a remote the new Furrion Chill Cube is exactly what you're looking for. This unit is also incredibly quiet and efficient. It has an 18,000 Btu capacity and uses a variable speed compressor to keep everything nice and cool without being overkill for the space. There are controls on the air distribution box as well as the remote which acts as the thermostat. You can choose from the following:
-Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w Air Distribution Box - Ducted - 18,000 Btu - Black # FR39TD
-Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w Air Distribution Box - Ducted - 18,000 Btu - White # FR99TD
The AC and will run independently so you can run your furnace off the old Dometic heater. It is also worth mentioning that all of the AC systems have moved to the new R32 refrigerant like this one. The new systems are not backwards compatible with the old R410A parts so no matter what you're looking at complete replacement. The Chill Cube keeps it pretty simple since it can run without a wall thermostat and it is the only one with a remote.
Any plans with your Forest River Cardinal before summer wraps up?
