Can a 2026 Honda CR-V Flush Rail Roof Rack be Adjusted Along the Roof?
Updated 12/18/2025 | Published 08/10/2025 >
Question:
I have a 2026 Honda CRV with dealer installed flush side rails and cross bars. The cross bars can only be mounted in one location. It seems like after market crossbars would also mount in the same fixed location. Do you have any other crossbar options that would work with the side rails but can also be mounted in other locations? I realize this was an option with a naked roof. Thank you.

Hey Matt, thanks for reaching out!
The only time crossbars can be adjusted on a vehicle is when it has raised rails or multiple mounting points built into the frame. Since your 2026 Honda CR-V is only available with flush rails or a naked roof the crossbars would be fixed either way, and I think you made the better choice by going with the flush rails.
For your setup I recommend the Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack # TH24QG for a few reasons; not only does it look sleeker than most other options on the market, but it's also a lot easier to install than most on the market.
Do you have a specific roof accessory you're needing a different crossbar spread for?

Thank you Jon My current Thule Atlantis 1800 only allows the trunk to open half way. I will do some measuring to see if the Yakima NX 16 would work better. I see the Yakima CBX Large only requires 45" of space but costs much more than the NX 16. I will NOT need to use a roof box and a ski rack at the same time. I will need to carry 4 - 5 sets of skis. I'm just concerned that if I load my skis with the tails facing the front, as recommended, my longer 190 skis will interfere with the trunk opening. Matt M

Jon Thank you for the response. I am looking for some roof rack accessory recommendations to use with my 2023 Honda CRV with fac tory rails and crossbars. What roof box would work on this vehicle without interfering with the trunk opening fully? I'm looking for the larger options. What ski rack would work on this vehicle to fit skis up to size190 without interfering with the trunk opening fully? I currently have an old Thule Atlantis 1800 roof box that worked perfectly for all my needs on previous vehicles. I'm thinking I may need to get a ski rack for winter and a slightly smaller roof box for my other needs. Thank you! Matt M
