Question:

Do I have to mount the Shadow 2 inside my cab? Not sure I want something bulky near my pedals.

Good thinking, Chad. The Shadow 2 Supplemental Braking System # RVi94FR is actually designed to be installed permanently under the hood and behind the brake pedal, but the components are split between engine bay and passenger footwell for best performance. The booster box and vacuum kit go in the engine compartment, and only the brake cable and clamp need to route through the firewall to reach the brake pedal arm. It’s a clean install when done right, no bulky boxes inside your cab. Once it’s set up, you won’t need to touch it again.

What type of vehicle and RV do you have, Chad?

Okay, that helps a lot. I just don’t want something sticking out where my feet are. Is the cable setup really out of the way once installed?

@ChadR Totally understand, Chad - nobody wants extra hardware in their footwell. With the Shadow 2, the only thing inside the cab is that slim cable and clamp on the brake pedal arm. Once routed through the firewall and tightened down, it sits high and out of the way, so you won’t notice it under normal driving. Everything bulky (control box, vacuum pump, and wiring) stays up in the engine bay.
