Can I Intall 12V RV Mini Fridge In Camper's Generator Slide-Out Compartment With Limited Ventilation

Updated 08/15/2025 | Published 07/23/2025

Question:

Can I install the EV96RR in a slide-out with limited ventilation? It is designed for a generator I think. But I use a bigger generator on the back rack anyways.

Ross, that’s a key detail. The Everchill 12v mini rv fridge # EV96RR is a freestanding fridge, and it does best with at least 1 inch of space on the sides and back for airflow. If your slide-out compartment has little or no ventilation, consider adding a small vent circulate heat away from the compressor area. As long as it’s not sealed up tight, you will be good to go.

That said, since it was designed to hold a generator, I bet it has enough ventilation for the fridge.
Do you have a picture of your setup so I can make sure we are on the same page with this?

Hey Ross, did you get a chance to take a picture of your setup? I'm curious if adding a vent helped with the ventilation for your fridge. Let me know how it worked out, as it could really help others in similar situations!
