Can Monitor of Custom Third Brake Light Camera System # 3460008 Get Removed
Updated 08/07/2025 | Published 07/15/2025 >
Question:
Are you able to remove the monitor when not in use? Or can I purchase a new head unit with a video display and use that with a different model camera. Looking for camera to assist hitching up fifth wheel.

Hey Franklin, there is a wing nut you could remove from the back of the monitor of the Custom Third Brake Light Camera System # 3460008 which would allow it to disconnect from the mount relatively easy but probably not as easy as you'd want. Another option is you could rotate the monitor down so that its basically out of the way too since the mount has a hinge.

Hey Franklin, did you try removing the monitor or rotating it down as suggested? I'm curious to know if either option worked well for you while hitching up your fifth wheel. Let me know how it went, as it could really help others in a similar situation!
