Replacement A-Frame Coupler for 1988 Boat Trailer
Updated 07/07/2025 | Published 06/30/2025 >
Question:
Ive tried 3 couplers so far and all have been too wide at the back once the front of the trailer beams make contact. Im hoping that you have a product that will fit my application. This is due a 1988 boat trailer. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey Allan! Can you measure the angle of the A-frame? That is the best way to determine what will fit. Your standard A-frame is 50 degrees which I'm sure matches the couplers you already tried on your trailer. If it is 32 degrees you can use the Demco 32-Degree A-Frame Trailer Coupler # DM15633-81. If it is a different angle you will likely need some custom work done with fabrication/welding to get a coupler on there.
