Does The Curt Helux Shock-Absorbing 5th Wheel Pin Box C83RJ Require Maintenance?

Question:
Does the Helux require maintenance, it doesnt appear to have an air bag, but does it need lubrication or other maintenance? Thanks for the help, yall rock!

Hello Marc, thanks for reaching out. The Curt Helux Shock-Absorbing 5th Wheel Pin Box # C83RJ requires no maintenance after in initial installation. It uses a spring instead of an air bag. I do recommend that you inspect the pin box and touch up and scratches or chips that may occur with black paint. That would be the only thing needed to maintain the coating just in case.

Hey Marc, did you have a chance to inspect the pin box and touch up any scratches or chips? I'm curious to know how it worked out for you since it could help others with similar maintenance concerns.
