Adding 7-way To 2019 Ford Edge ST With Factory 4-Flat

Updated 06/10/2025 | Published 06/05/2025

Question:

I have a 2019 Ford Edge ST with the factory hitch package installed and the 4 pin harness. I am looking to add the Curt 57672. Will this essentially be a plug and play install plus the manual wire connections to complete the 7 pin functionality with the factory harness and module, or will I need to do some additional programming on the Ford trailer module? Or is there anything else I need to be aware before installing this? Thank you!!

Hello Kyle, thanks for reaching out. The Curt # C57672 will plug in to your current 4-flat connector, but if you are planning to pull a trailer with a 7-way and trailer brakes, additional wiring will need to be required. We actually custom make our own install kit for this depending on what kind of brake controller you will be using:

- Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7 (for standard in-cab controllers)

- 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 12 Gauge Wires # ETBC7L (for wireless brake controllers)

Take a look at the diagram I included below for the # ETBC7. The installation for the # ETBC7L would be the same minus the blue wire. You should not need to modify the factory module at all, you are just adding on to it.

What kind of trailer will you be pulling? And what brake controller do you plan to use? Reply on this page.

Thanks Jesse! I use the Curt Echo and I pull a pop up trailer, loaded is around 2,500lbs if I remember correctly.

@Kyle Great! The # ETBC7L kit is what you will need then. Really all you have to do is connect the 4-flat and run a wire to the battery so it shouldn't give you too much trouble.
