What Hub/Drums Fit 2,000 lb Rated Trailer Axles

Updated 06/03/2025 | Published 05/31/2025

Question:

Hi. I have a trailer rated for about 2000 lbs. it’s a 5 on 4 1/2 for the studs. They’re half inch thick studs. Was wondering if I should get the 7 inch drum setup or the 10 inch setup for 3500 lb axles. Thanks

Hey Zachary, for your axle capacity of 2,000 lbs there is only a 7 inch hub/drum available like with the part # AKHD-545-2-EZ-2K. The 10 inch hub/drums that the 3,500 lb axles have would use larger bearings so they wouldn't fit.

Then for brake assemblies you'd want the part # AKEBRK-2.
