Question:
We pull a 19 hybrid gross weight 5900lbs with a 2012 F150 Ecoboost 3.5L using the e2 weight distribution system. We need 2 more inches of clearance to be able to fully open our tailgate when hitched up. Is there an extension shank that would work? Correction: Total gross weight of trailer is 4950. Thank you.

Hey Pamela! There are extended shanks available that will allow you to fully open the tailgate with your Fastway e2. What you can use is the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4600. This is 18" long with an 8" rise and 4" drop. Fastway is made by Equal-i-zer so the two are compatible.
I would not try to use a hitch extension like the # HE12 you were looking at even if it is rated for weight distribution. Not only will this reduce your hitch capacity, it will also add in an additional component which could result in extra/unwanted movement. If you need anything else feel free to hit that reply button.
