Question:
Hi, I have a Part Number: TJD-8000S on my tear trailer and would like to swap it out with an arc wheeled jack. Can you point me to something that would work? My current RAM 8000 is bolted on to a plate, I can send you pictures. Thanks

Hello David,
When picking out the right jack, the weight is off the tongue weight and not the actual weight of the trailer. I am not sure what teardrop trailer you have, but when I look up the maximum loaded weight for a teardrop camper it is listed at 3,000 pounds. When your trailer is fully loaded, you want your tongue weight to be 10-15% of your overall weight (this means you have things packed in there correctly, which really helps when it comes to safe towing and sway), max tongue weight would be 450 pounds.
With that said, the Ark Xtreme Off-Road Swivel Trailer Jack w/ 2 Wheels - Sidewind - 12" Lift - Zinc - 770 lbs # ORJW350D would be a great jack for your teardrop camper. If you wanted a beefier one then you could go up to the # ARK57FR (although it is not necessary).
This would need to be a side mount as it has a swivel. I attached a video for you to check out as well.
Any big trips coming up? If so, where are you headed?
