Question:

I have a 2007 Coachman Encore 40 ft. MH. I have 2 roof air Dometic Duo Term ducted. I like to replace both units. What is the replacement ducted roof air for this coach? I want a good system, we are mostly in Florida in the summer. Thank you.

Hi Hans; for replacement AC units I recommend the new Furrion Chill Cube. With the Chill Cube you're going to get the best possible cooling with a lot less noise. This uses a variable speed compressor making it incredibly efficient. Also, everything is switching to the new R32 refrigerant so now is a good time to make that switch. The old model parts are already becoming obsolete so I don't recommend any of the old R410a units.

This does require a complete replacement since the R32 AC units aren't backwards compatible, even within the same brand. For a ducted setup you will need one of the following:

-Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w Air Distribution Box - Ducted - 18,000 Btu - Black # FR39TD

-Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w Air Distribution Box - Ducted - 18,000 Btu - White # FR99TD

-Furrion Chill Cube RV AC w/ Air Distribution Box, Thermostat - Ducted # FR69TD (if you have a furnace)

-Furrion Chill Cube RV AC w/ Air Distribution Box, Thermostat - Ducted # FR49TD (if you have a furnace)

The first two options are the AC unit, air distribution box (ADB), and remote. You can technically run this with a furnace but the furnace will have to run independently off of your existing thermostat. If you want everything to work together then you need the # FR69TD or # FR49TD that include the wall thermostat. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to reply below.

Hi Hans, did you decide to go with the Furrion Chill Cube for your Coachman? I'd love to hear how it worked out for you, especially with the Florida heat, as it could help others looking to upgrade their AC systems.
