Can MaxxFan Dome Roof Vent Be Installed Without Rain Shield
Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 05/15/2025 >
Question:
Looks like a tight fit where I would side mount it with the rain cover. Is that needed when side mounting if I wont open the vent if raining?

Hey Robert! You can install the MaxxFan Dome Roof Vent # MA00-03812B on your wall without the rain shield. However, I would try to add it if possible. This will help keep out water and debris regardless of whether or not you open it in the rain. Also, it will help keep any water or condensation from coming in if it is sitting on the top of the fan mounted on your wall. Let me know if you need anything else.
