@JerredH Thank you for contacting me! Please tell me about the wiring for this brake. There are two wires. One is the wire from the brake controller, and where should I connect the other one? Please let me know. I'm using the tekonsha.P3 brake controller. I'd like to buy this product as well. Thank you in advance.

@Shigeyuki You're welcome! The wire you're looking for is called the stop light switch and it'll be around your brake pedal. You'll want to use a circuit tester like item # PTW2993 to find the wire that only has power when you press the brake pedal. This will connect to the red wire from the Prodigy P3 item # 90195 harness.

Hello. Regarding the two wires coming out of this brake assembly, where should I connect one to the wire coming from the brake controller and where should I connect the other? Thank you.

@Shigeyuki Hello! The Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes item # K23-103-104-00 has two white wires. You'll need to connect one to power and one to a ground. It doesn't matter which one you use for either function. You can reconnect them to the wires your old brakes were ran to using heat shrink butt connectors like item # DW05745-5. Neither of these connect to your brake controller.

Thank you for your reply. This is Shigeyuki. I'm sorry for asking so many times. Of the two white wires coming from the brake assembly, one is for power, but should I connect that power to the blue trailer output coming from the brake controller? Or should I connect it somewhere on the 7-pin connector? Is it okay to use a ground for the other one? I'm sorry for asking so many times. Thank you! I threw away the old wiring and brake assembly, so I need to wire it up new. I'll buy it when I understand it. Please let me know. Thank you so much!

@Shigeyuki No, you shouldn't connect the brakes directly to the brake controller. You need to find the wiring you cut your old brake assemblies off of and connect the wires from the Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes item # K23-103-104-00 to them.

@Shigeyuki I can't help with shipping on the Prodigy P3 item # 90195. They're backordered from the manufacturer.(05/19/25) What I can do is suggest going with the Prodigy P2 item # 90885. It installs in an identical way and has the same features you'll need to tow your Coleman Taos trailer.

Hello, thank you. What are the differences in functions between p2 and p3? Please tell me the details in detail. If it's okay, I'll consider buying p2. Thank you. Thank you for everything!

@Shigeyuki The main difference between the Prodigy P2 item # 90885 and the Prodigy P3 item # 90195 is the screens. The P2 has a more traditional screen with the simple numbers and dots. The P3 has a LCD screen which provides for a customizable read out. It also allows the controller to tell you what is wrong if you should have an issue rather than having to find the manual to determine what the combination of dots and numbers will mean. Both controllers are proportional, work with electric or electric over hydraulic brakes and will support trailers with up to 4 braking axles.
