What is Height of Power Mountain Tallboy Off Road Bottle Jack When Retracted and Extended
Updated 12/31/2025 | Published 12/25/2025 >
Question:
I know the Power Mountain Tallboy can lift, with attachments, 6 ton to 37inch and 12 ton to 27. How high does the just ram/piston NO attachments lift on the 6Ton and 12ton jack?

Hey Andersen, without any type of attachment installed on the Power Mountain TallBoy Off Road Bottle Jack part # PM34FR the height is 9 inches when fully retracted and then 15 when extended. The lift range is right around 6-1/2 inches. Would that work for you?

The Tall Boy Jack is packed in a carrying case like it is fragile, I guess so it doesn't rattle around or damage items stored along side it in your vehicle. I unpacked it, checked its operation, and measured its height. See pics if available, I don't see a way to add my pics. The piston reached a height of 17" without any of the extensions or the "U" axle saddle on top. I purchased this jack to use as an emergency jack for my new travel trailer as my former trailer was much lower. I like that it is a combined jack and jack stand. Should be safer to use on the roadside or off the road. I hope I never have to use it!

not only is the maximum extension important but the minimum as well especially if there’s a needs to a jack slip under an axle or suspension assembly. Using just the bottle jack extension sleeve with one of the cap attachments the minimum use height is about 11”.
