Question:
Can the cover be locked to the trailer to prevent tank theft? I’d so, what is the recommended method?

Hey David! The Camco RV Polyethylene Propane Tank Cover # CAM40565 is typically held on by a bungee using the bungee holes. This is pretty standard for propane covers which are designed to be easily removed and aren't designed for security. You could lock it by running some kind of cable through but those bungee tabs won't hold. I would expect to have to drill into the cover to add any kind of security.
If you're worried about keeping your propane tanks secure I recommend using a propane holder like the # 37220BL. Then you can add the Bauer Products Propane Tank Lock # BA62VR or TorkLift Fortress GasLock # TLA7702 to keep anyone from walking off with them. If you need anything else feel free to reach out in the comments below.

No. The propane tank holders only work with double tanks, i have a single tank for which this cover was designed. I just decided to forgo locking it.
