Question:
Would like to install cable actuated valves on the black and gray tanks on my 2025 Sunset Park 13MJ travel trailer. Would like to know if the cable can be trimmed to a custom length like you would do with a throttle cable on a lawn mower.

Hello Pete, thanks for reaching out. The Valterra Waste Valve Body w/ Flexible Cable # VAL54MB comes pre-assembled so it would not be recommended to cut this.
A better option would be Valterra Waste Valve Body w/ Flexible Cable # TC372. This has a 72" cable and comes disassembled so it would be easy to trip the cable down to size before you assemble it.
How long of a cable are you thinking you need?

Only really need about 48 inches. The trailer has the waste valves exiting directly behind the driver side tire. The position of the valves would potentially expose them to road debris damage. My thought is to purchase 2 valves, remove existing, install the cable valves into the outlet of the black and gray tanks and run the cables to a spot at the rear of the trailer. When doing this I will need to add a 45 degree fitting to the black tank and a lug fitting on the 45. The gray tank will only need LaSalle Bristol RV Lug Adapter with Flange - 3" 34466V13B or similar. This will allow me to utilize Valterra Extension for RV Waste Valve - 3" Bayonet Fitting - Black T1022BK to connect a sewer drain hose while keeping everything tucked up out of the way.
