How Can I Hook Up the Empire Faucets RV Bathroom Vessel Sink Faucet in My Travel Trailer?

Updated 04/24/2025 | Published 04/21/2025

Question:

Hello, I have a 2023 Ibex 20MDS by Forrest River travel trailer. I am looking to replace the subpar factory bathroom faucet that provides almost no clearance to the sink. However my under the sink hookups do not appear to be the conventional 1/2” female hookups. How this I make this faucet work?

Hello Andy,

Thank you for the picture, they are always most helpful.

The black screw connectors you're at the top of the red and white water lines are quick-connect fittings, those will unscrew and screw into to the Empire Faucets RV Bathroom Vessel Sink Faucet - Single Lever Handle - Matte Black # EM82WR. I attached 2 images to better show what I am talking about.

Don't forget some plumber tape for the threads, you can get that at your local hardware store.

Getting things all geared up for a big trip? If so, where are you headed?

Hi Kate, Thanks for the reply. I understand the male quick connects will go onto the female on the faucet. My concern is that the faucets lines are 14" long, I believe. They are braided steel and pretty ridged. The PVC lines in the RV are ridged as well. The issue is I don't think I'll be able to make the connection without coiling (to shorten) one or the other. In other words I'll have to much length and they won't bend easily to shorten. I feel I would almost have to shorten the PVC red and white lines in the RV by cutting them down but then don't know he to reattach the male fittings.

@Bartosz Got it, and that is an easy fix. You can cut down your water lines, then reinstall the quick-connect fittings which will have a barbed end, then you will want to use a Valterra Hose Clamp - Stainless Steel - 1/4" x 5/8" to Micro Band Diameter - Qty 1 # H03-0015 to make it leak proof, or you can reuse the current ones on there if they are in good shape.
