Cushioned Pin Box Recommendation for 2022 Heartland Cyclone 4270

Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 04/21/2025

Question:

Hi, I am looking for a smoother riding pin box for my rig. I have been looking at the Lippert Helux Model 2024044570 Could you tell me if this would be the best choice and same bolt pattern. I have a 2022 Heartland Cyclone 4270 the pin box on there now is a Lippert S007314325 Item 2020126022 My hitch is a BandW 24k and the tow unit is a 2023 Ram 3500 with a 6.7l HO motor Thanks for the help

Hey Lenard, since we know your 2022 Heartland Cyclone 4270 has a Lippert 1621 pin box we don't currently have a Curt Helux that would fit it but for a great cushioned pin box option we have the Curt Flex Air part # LC328492 which will do a really great job giving you a smoother ride quality as it offers both vertical and horizontal cushioning. This will work great with your B and W hitch as well.

Hey Lenard, did the Curt Flex Air pin box work out for your Heartland Cyclone? I'm asking because your experience could help others looking for a smoother ride.

@JamesonC Yes, it did fit and it is a smoother ride with a lot less chucking. It does look like it points downward so I asked the mechanic at the RV service center when we were there. He came out and agreed it was pointing down but assured me I should not have any problems because what my concern was dealing with hard turns it looked as if it would hit, but after looking closer if the truck was jack knifed that far the truck bumper would be hitting. Overall I am pleased with the product and it is a two man lift to install. Lucky I have a small tractor to help.

@LenardP Glad it's working well! Ideally you adjust the head of your hitch or the pin box height to allow the trailer to sit level.
