What Hitch do I Need for My 2025 Toyota Corolla Cross HYBRID for a Bike Rack?
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
I have a 2025 Toyota Corolla Cross HYBRID to which I would like to add a hitch for a bike rack. Your automated system does not allow me to specify a HYBRID. According to my Toyota dealer installing a hitch on my vehicle necessitates a relocation of wiring and is a seven hour job. Please advise.

Hello Jim,
Wow, they quoted you seven hours for a trailer hitch install? That seems really high. The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # EH87CR is specifically designed for the Hybrid version of the 2025 Toyota Corolla Cross, so it’ll be a perfect fit for your vehicle. I’m not quite sure what kind of wiring they’re referring to, but here are our tech notes on the install: it's intended for Hybrid models, no drilling through the vehicle frame is required, and underbody panels or fascia may need to be temporarily loosened or removed. Some trimming might be needed to reattach the panel or fascia.
We work with trusted dealers all across the U.S. and do the research to make sure they’re reliable before recommending them. I’ve attached a link where you can check out installers in your area if you’re interested. You didn’t mention needing wiring, but in case you’re planning to do some light towing or use a hitch-mounted accessory: if your Corolla Cross has LED taillights, the correct wiring kit is # TK24CR, and if it has incandescent taillights, you’ll want # TK25VR. With either option you will also want to grab a mounting bracket # 18144 for a clean looking install.
What kind of bikes are you hauling, and what brand bike rack did you go with?
