Can Curt Weight Distribution Shank Be Used In Rise Position

Updated 10/27/2025 | Published 03/20/2025

Question:

Hello, I was wondering if I can flip the CURT 17132 hitch upside down to use as a “rise” hitch? I have a husky centerline attached to it. I just purchased a new toy hauler, and it sits nose down behind my truck. I just want to make sure that it is safe to mount the CURT 17132 upside down sticking up to produce a rise as my truck is a little low in the rear. Thank you!

Hey Josh, how did things go using the Curt weight distribution shank in the rise position with your toy hauler? It’d be great to hear if that helped level out your setup. Your update could make it easier for the next person with the same issue.
