Question:

I need to replace my RV AC. It is a Dometic MFG 459516.711CO / Prod 991762457. Do you have a direct replacement? I just want to make sure I dont need to modify the opening or the wiring. Thanks

Hello Timothy, thanks for reaching out. I was not able to find any direct references for the part number 991762457, but we may still have a replacement for you. It would not be a direct replacement though. You should be able to replace it with one of the Advent units, but we will first need to determine what BTU rating your AC is, and what type of plug it uses.

First, remove the shroud and check the BTU rating of your current unit. You'll want to match or go higher than your current rating. The # ACDOM135B has a 13,500 BTU rating. If you have a 15,000 BTU rating on your current unit you'll want the # ACDOM150B instead.

Second, remove the cover of your air distribution box and you'll want to look up into the opening for the controller. There will be a wire harness coming down from the rooftop unit which will plug into the controller. If it's a 6-pin like I have pictured below then the # ACDOM135B will be able to plug right into the controller.

If you have a 9-pin then you most likely have a heat pump and will need the to replace the entire system with either the # ACM135BC or # ACM150BC.

Leave a reply below with any other questions or comments and I will get back to you.

Hi Jesse, Hoping you can help me with the same unit (991762457). It is a 15000 BTU with a 6 pin connector going to the controller. Can you tell me what unit I should go with?

@Jason Hey Jason, so the answer you saw above is from a while back and there have been a lot of changes with RV AC units in recent months and many of the parts mentioned above are no longer available. The 6-pin adapters are being discontinued because they are unreliable. Also new RV AC units use the new R32 refrigerant which is not backwards compatible with any other refrigerant type. That said, we can help you replace your AC unit, but it will mean replacing your distribution box and thermostat as well. For the 15K BTU Advent unit, I recommend the following: - Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System - Single Zone - 15,000 Btu - Black - R32 # ADV62SR This comes with everything you need to replace your AC, and it can work with both ducted and ductless systems.

@JesseM Thanks Jesse for the info. Does the system you recommend below come in white? Not sure but wondering if a white unit would be more efficient then a black unit? - Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System - Single Zone - 15,000 Btu - Black - R32 # ADV62SR

@Jason Yes it does come in white as part # ADV92SR. True the white cover will reflect more heat but you would not notice a difference in efficiency between the white and black units. Any difference would be negligible.
