Question:

I would like to upgrade to a newer Dometic water heater that runs gas/electric. My trailer is a 2001 Fleetwood Prowler and the water heater currently is a GC6AA-9E. Everytime it breaks down I have to remove my stove just to get to the back of the water heater. Is there a newer and easier gas/electric replacement water heater? The opening measures 18inch x 14.

Hey Glen, thanks for reaching out!

I recommend replacing your Dometic water heater with the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR48SR. This runs just off of gas and the fact that it's tankless makes it way more efficient than the age-old tank options. This can provide up to 144 gallons of hot water per hour so you can take an actual shower instead of having to use the water just to rinse off for fear of taking a cold shower.

This comes with a 16-1/8" tall x 18-1/8" wide access door which I think will work for your setup. If it doesn't, we also have it as part # FR93FR which doesn't come with a door so you can make your own to match your specs!
